Senior Technical Lead

Acts as team leader for development and support groups; provides programming and application/technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members.

• Drive product research, RFP/vendor interview from technical perspective and POCs activities for COTS solution in a buy decision and communicate business cases for Technology Review Board approvals

• Work with technical team members to resolve implementation issues from business or technical requirements, design, code, testing, to technology/platform
• Participate in pre-deployment, deployment and post-deployment activities to ensure success
• Participate in incident resolution process
• Provide mentoring, stewardship, direction, and guidance to accountable teams

Responsibilities:
• Work across the digital organization to integrate, implement, and design new SaaS cloud-native solutions for digital platform offerings for creating direct to the consumer marketplace
• Clearly verbalize complex concepts using specific examples from their experience, describe the problem, describe the approach taken to solve it, emphasis why they think it was the best solution given the circumstances
• Solve problems as a technology generalist within domains such as application, integration, services, data, performance, etc.
• Assemble PoCs and evaluate technologies based on the functional and non-functional requirements
• Acts as team leader for development and support groups; provides programming and application/technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members
• Mentor and assist software engineers, providing technical assistance and direction as needed
• Deliver enterprise-class systems and serve as technical lead on complex projects using best practice engineering standards
• Guide the team to develop a structured application/interface code, new program documentation, operations documentation and user guides
• Communicate with end users and internal customers to help direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness

Required Skills:
• 5+ years of experience leading software engineering projects
• 10+ years or more of experience in design, analysis, development, coding, unit testing, debug and documentation of distributed enterprise applications
• 5+ years of experience developing distributed systems by leveraging JEE, Spring, and other Java technologies
• 3+ years of experience developing web/mobile applications leveraging front-end technologies such as Angular, React, HTML5, CSS, and other JavaScript libraries
• 3+ years of experience in Micro services technologies using minimum Java-8 & Spring Boot Framework is required
• 3+ years of experience in data access frameworks such as Spring JPA, Hibernate is required
• Hands on experience in Kafka is required
• Must have working experience in testing frameworks: Spring JUnit, Mockito, Power Mock, DBUnit
• Hands on experience in relational database such as Oracle or DB2 or MySQL or PostGres or Derby is required
• 2+ years of experience in business rules engine such as Drools is desired
• 2+ years of experience in working with Graph databases is desired
• Ideal candidate will also have 2+ years of experience in jBPM or Activiti BPM or similar technology in developing rules driven workflow services
• Working experience in code repositories such as SVN, GIT, BITBUCKET
• Working experience in build/deployment tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins
• Working experience in Tools like Jira, SharePoint, Confluence
• Proven experience in many of the following:
• Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining software at scale.
• Developing software applications using relational and Nosql databases
• Multi-threaded/concurrent programming, XML, code profiling and optimization, design patterns, Service Oriented Architecture
• Application architectural patterns, such as MVC, Microservices, Event-driven, etc.
• Deploying software using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Deploying and maintaining software using public clouds such as AWS or Azure
• Strong understanding and/or experience in many of the following:
• Strong experience and understanding of container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos etc.
• Good understanding of cloud-native architectures
• Experience designing well-defined Restful APIs
• Experience writing API proxies on platforms such as Apigee Edge, AWS API Gateway or Azure API Gateway
• Hands one experience with API tools such as Swagger, Postman and Assertible
• Message brokers such as Kafka, Rabbitmq, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache ActiveMQ, Kinesis
• Design or development or integration experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop
• Experience working with data stores such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Oracle
• Strong familiarity with data analytics and data warehousing
• Strong understanding of IoT concepts
• Good understanding of AI/ML driven data science, predictive analytics and cognitive computing
• Test driven development and behavior driven development
